Dolphins players, like many in the NFL leading up to their Week 3 games in the wake of President Donald Trumps NFL-related comments Saturday, reportedly discussed potential pregame protests for Sunday’s game against the Jets.
Rather than individuals protesting privately during the playing of the national anthem, Miami players decided decided “they’ll instead lock arms in solidarity,” ESPN’s Jeff Darlington reported Sunday morning.
Dolphins’ idea of locking arms is not perceived as a protest to all players — but instead a show of solidarity for those who want to do so.
Gordon is eligible to reapply for reinstatement this fall, but even if he is given the OK to return, it remains to be seen if the Browns will accept him again.
“Josh feels like he’s been let down by the people closest to him,” Montgomery said. “Where Josh comes from, marijuana is considered like a cigarette. That’s just his mentality. Josh has been tossed around. He goes to college and he gets kicked out. Then he goes to the NFL and he gets kicked out. Josh feels like he’s been punished repeatedly for something everyone else is doing.”
According to Montgomery, who has also dealt with substance abuse in the Orioles Cheap Jerseys past, said Nike NFL Jerseys Gordon got in his own way of success, but that he is now doing well and has been training.
“From what I’ve seen, he’s in a different place than what he was six, seven months ago,” Montgomery said. “He’s come a long, long way from when we first started working together.”
